A new construction loan for a $2 billion project in Georgia has gone out to the contractor.
Workers on the new building at the Atlanta-Fulton County Airport were paid $6,000 per hour and $6 million per year in overtime in 2016.
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp said in a news release that the loan is an extension of the existing loan program.
“The loan provides the project with the financial flexibility to begin construction on the project,” he said.
Kemp also said that the State Department of Commerce, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Georgia Department of Transportation have been notified about the loan.
The State Department said that it will send a formal letter to the company to allow it to begin work.
