The construction of a highway project in Texas is going to be the most expensive in the state, but the $9.8 billion project in Travis County is already getting plenty of attention.
It has been awarded a $9-billion loan, but Travis County, the biggest of Texas’ 34 counties, is still waiting on the final approval from the state.
The construction of the project, dubbed the Texas Toll Road, will be the first highway in Texas since the Great Recession.
It will connect the city of McKinney with the San Antonio area.
It is estimated to cost around $935 million.
The construction will take around 10 years, and the state expects to finish construction by 2021.
The highway will be a major headache for Texas.
The Texas Department of Transportation estimates the cost of the road will exceed $1 trillion.
The state is facing a projected $11 billion deficit this year.
In a statement, the state said that the project would help the state address a number of problems that are impacting the economy and society.
“The Texas Tollway project will create more than 4,000 construction jobs in the area of construction,” the state wrote.
“It will provide a major economic boost to the Travis County region, adding $5 billion to the local economy and creating more than 1,100 new jobs.”
The construction will begin in 2019 and the road is expected to be completed by 2021, although the construction is not expected to start until 2028.
The project was approved by the Travis-Bergstrom International Airport Authority, which operates the airport, on March 30, 2017.
The project was awarded by the Texas Transportation Commission on July 5, 2017, according to a news release.
The state hopes to complete the project by 2022.
